The Noisy Neighbors

They're keeping everybody up . . .on the dance floor.

Look out, it's The Noisy Neighbors - a piano-based, roadhouse rock trio (Jim Beckerman, piano; Steve Buzbee, drums, Brian Mangini, bass) that does new twists on old songs, old twists on new songs, and twisted originals that will get you jumping, shouting, and shaking your moneymaker.

Boogie and funk pianist Jim Beckerman (co-founder of The VooDudes) brings his New Orleans-style, party-hearty sound to a wide range of songs, from Mardi Gras classics like "Iko Iko" to more recent mega-hits like "Tubthumping," "Your Body is a Wonderland," and "Oops, I Did It Again" - all played with a touch of foot-stomping Louisiana funk that will turn any club into a block party.

The band has rocked such venues as Havana in New Hope, Pa., Triumph Brewery in Princeton, Tim Kerwin's in Middlesex, The Rathskeller in Dunellen, The Bayou in Mount Vernon, N.Y., Fat Tuesdays in Rahway, Tumulty's in New Brunswick, and Alba Vineyards Wine Festival in Finesville. Wherever they've gone, they've raised the roof with their rowdy repertoire of blues, funk, rockabilly, soul, boogie-woogie, New Orleans party anthems, old roadhouse tunes, and new MTV hits that end up sounding like old roadhouse tunes. There oughta be an ordinance.

The Noisy Neighbors. They're a nice band to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.

THE NOISY NEIGHBORS ARE:

Steve Buzbee (drums, vocals). Call him the architect of the Noisy Neighbors sound. This guy is so clean cut it's hard to believe he once banned from CBGBs for being too alternative. This amateur yachtsman and professional troublemaker is a veteran of several new wave bands, including The Halos and The Bridge and Tunnel Crew.

Brian Mangini (bass, vocals). This dude's a rock star, and several lucky ladies have the plaster casts to prove it. An original member of the Warner's recording artists band SlaughterHouse, Brian has also played with The Frankie Bell Band, Tantrum, and The Last Shot Blues Band.

Jim Beckerman (piano, vocals). He's part Jerry Lee Lewis, and part Jerry Lewis. A founding member of The VooDudes, Jim has also played with The Travel Agents, Ron Tullier and the Heritage Hepcats, and The Frankie Bell Band, and appeared on the Holmes Brothers' album "Lottoland" and the Scarlett Lee Moore album "Scarlett." His solo album, "Born to Boogie," was released in 2000.
